Several Tsars ruled Russia during Shah Sulayman's reign and so it is not clear to whom the letter has been sent. The following addressees are possible: Alexis I (1645-76), Fjodor III (1676-82), Ivan V ( 1682-89), Peter I (since 1689).
Since this letter is undated Shah Sulayman's reign (1666-94) was used to determine the date of the document.
